Mellor have been on the frontline of the UK indie resurgence since 2016, building a global fanbase with singles such as ‘Arms Length’ & ‘Bone Idle’ as well as charting in the UK album charts with last year’s EP ‘Dive into the Strange’.
Support for Mellor has come from far and wide – featuring on the Spotify Indie list, Transistor and Hot New bands playlists, Apple Music's Breaking Bands playlist, had national and local radio support from Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music; John Kennedy on Radio X; Tim Cocker on Virgin Radio; Frank Skinner on Absolute Radio and Abbie McCarthy on Radio 1, who hailed the single ‘Safe Word’ as a “Straight up Indie banger”.
Despite the current global pandemic, Mellor maintained their momentum in 2020, releasing single ‘Heaven isn’t Yours to Give’, signing a management deal with Eighty4 Music, getting picked up by Rob McGee at FMLY agency for live as well as having the backing of the Mystic Sons promo machine to represent the band at press & radio
Never faltering, Mellor steamroll into 2021 with a schedule of genre-bending releases through Eighty4 Music / Ingrooves that are poised to make the band one of the hottest tipped acts of the year.
The first single ‘Lost In This World’ is scheduled for release in February and is everything fans have come to expect of Mellor – Big riffs, odd note and chord placement, cryptic lyrics and catchy melodies all moulded perfectly into 3 ½ minutes of breath-taking indie cool.
